Evanescence Singer To Release Ukulele-Powered Children’s Album

By Greg Olwell

Amy Lee, the singer for the goth-influenced metal band Evanescence, returns with a new album that’s a departure from her band’s massive, dark sound.

Inspired by her two-year-old son Jack, Lee is releasing Dream Too Much, a 12-song children’s album that’s due September 30, exclusively through Amazon Music.

True to the family-friendly spirit of the album, Dream Too Much will feature Lee’s vocals with her father playing ukulele, Dobro, and banjo; her sisters singing backup, and her uncle playing guitar, harmonica, and bass. The album will include covers of the Beatles “Hello Goodbye” and the Sesame Street classic “Rubber Duckie,” made famous by Bert and Ernie.

There’s also this ukulele-powered single, the title track from Dream Too Much. See some behind the scenes clips here.
