Video Pick: Led Kaapana and Bob Brozman Play ‘Spanish Eyes’

It’s been a while since we dug into the vaults for a performance video of Led Kaapana playing the uke, so here’s a particularly cool performance featuring not just Led, but also the late Bob Brozman as well, on a magical performance of the tune “Spanish Eyes.” You might recall that the two of them made the exceptional 1997 Dancing Cat release called Kika Kila Meets Ki Ho’Alu with Led on slack-key guitar and Brozman on acoustic steel guitar. In this video, shot in Maui in 2011, both musicians play resonator instruments. Led recorded a studio version of “Spanish Eyes” on his 1998 album Waltz of the Wind. —Blair Jackson
