If you’re looking for Halloween music, the Misfits, forerunners of “horror punk,” are certainly a fine place to start. A quick perusal of their song titles will tell you all you need to know: “Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?” “Astro Zombies,” “Night of the Living Dead,” “Skulls,” “Braineaters,” etc.
Strangely enough, ukulele enthusiasts seem to be quite taken with the Misfits’ music. Perhaps no song is more appropriate for the occasion than “Halloween,” written by Glenn Danzig and originally released on October 31, 1981.
