Roy Smeck

Nicknamed "the Wizard of the Strings," Roy Smeck (1900-1994) was one of America's top ukulele performers in the 1920s and '30s, a vaudeville player who amazed audiences with his flashy technique on records, onstage, and in films. Also a fine guitarist and banjo player, Smeck later in life became a music teacher based in New York City.
