Incorporating a beveled edge for greater playing comfort, Kala’s new Comfort Edge tenor ukuleles are the company’s first to add this elegant little feature. The lower bass bout is beveled which some players say makes playing more comfortable, an innovation that has swept the custom acoustic guitar world and is now making its way into the ukulele scene. Kala offers two models in the line: the Tenor with EQ (KA-SRT-CTG-E) and the Florentine Cutaway Tenor (KA-SRT-CTG-CE).

Both tenors feature Kala’s UK-300-TR EQ onboard preamp with a built-in tuner, a solid cedar top, solid rosewood back and sides, and padauk binding. The 19-fret rosewood fingerboard sits atop a mahogany neck and runs all the way to the soundhole. The sharp-edged Florentine cutaway gives players even easier access to those upper notes.

The beveled edge was born from the mind of Grit Laskin, a high-end custom guitar-maker who has made several innovations to the classic acoustic guitar shape.
