There can be a lot more to being a ukulele player than just playing ukulele. It’s a lifestyle and one of the goals is enjoying life and expressing your love of the instrument.

That’s where luthier Pepe Romero Jr. and musician Daniel Ho got the idea to create a ukulele-themed skateboard.

We were looking for a high-quality and fun board that travels easily—similar in concept to our Tiny Tenor, which is a full tenor ukulele in a concert size gigbag,” says Daniel Ho, who co-created the UkeBoard with his friend, luthier Pepe Romero Jr. “Selfishly, my wife Lydia and I wanted something we could take on tour to cruise around and sight-see.”

Like the ukulele, the UkeBoard is small and portable. Its  24-inch long deck (compared to full-size boards, which hover in the 30-inch range) is a cruise/travel board shape that Ho wanted to be small enough to easily fit into a suitcase.

  • Concave deck with tail kick + a hint of nose flip
  • Made in San Diego, California by Sector 9
  • The graphic are simple Asian brush strokes in black. The idea was to feature the beautiful grain of the maple wood rather than cover it up with colors and graphics.
